Physica Medica is at 800 S Bond Street in Fells Point — one neighborhood over from Harbor East, a few minutes by car or on foot. Harbor East patients come here because they want more than what a chain clinic offers, and they don't want to drive to the suburbs to get it. One DPT. Every session. No techs filling time between the visits that matter.
Dry needling is the most requested service at Physica Medica, and for good reason. Most Baltimore clinics either don't offer it or hand it off to someone who completed a weekend course. Here, it's performed by a doctoral-level physical therapist with years of clinical application behind every session.
A thin, sterile filament is inserted directly into a muscle's trigger point — the knotted, hypersensitive tissue that refers pain and limits range of motion. The needle provokes a release response that hands-on work alone often can't reach. It's not acupuncture. The mechanism is different, the training is different, and the clinical goals are different.
Harbor East patients most commonly come in for chronic neck and shoulder pain, low back pain, IT band syndrome, and plantar fasciitis. If you've had dry needling elsewhere and it didn't hold, or if you've been curious but uncertain whether it's right for your condition, a one-on-one assessment is the right place to start.
Every service is delivered by a DPT — not a tech, not a rotating associate. Most Harbor East patients combine two or three of these in a single session, depending on what the assessment turns up.
Trigger point release targeting deep muscle tissue. Our most-requested service.
02Clinical soft-tissue work focused on function and recovery. Not a spa service.
03Decompression-based fascial work that creates space in restricted tissue rather than compressing it.
04Instrument-assisted soft tissue mobilization — precision tool work for scar tissue, adhesions, and restricted fascia.
05Pelvic floor and lumbopelvic care through every trimester, from a DPT with specific prenatal training.
06Supervised loading for patients returning to training, sport, or physically demanding work.
07Global postural re-alignment using the Pancafit system. Rarely available in the U.S.
08Certified clinical breathwork and cold exposure for stress regulation, recovery, and sleep.
The case mix here skews toward patients who've already been through standard PT and didn't get where they needed to go — complex chronic pain, post-surgical rehab, and overuse injuries that keep coming back. Common presentations include rotator cuff tears, ACL recovery, herniated discs, IT band syndrome, plantar fasciitis, chronic low back and neck pain, and pelvic floor dysfunction during or after pregnancy. If your condition is straightforward, we'll treat it well. If it's not, that's where the one-on-one doctoral-level model makes the most difference.
There are larger PT chains within easy reach of Harbor East. What they offer is volume — high patient loads, short appointments, and whoever is available that day. If that model worked for you before, you probably wouldn't be reading this page.
The difference here is structural. Sixty-minute sessions. One therapist who knows your history, your goals, and what you tried last time. No intake with one person and treatment with another. If you've been through the PT mill — exercises on a sheet, ten minutes of hands-on time, discharged without resolution — this practice is built specifically for patients who need something different.
[ Real patient testimonial from a Harbor East or nearby patient will be placed here — 3 to 5 sentences about their experience with one-on-one care, a specific service, or a condition that had not responded to prior treatment. ][Patient Name] · Fells Point resident · Chronic neck pain

Metered street parking on Bond Street during business hours. Free street parking after 6pm and on weekends. From Harbor East, the clinic is a five-minute drive or a walkable distance along the waterfront.
How close is Physica Medica to Harbor East? The clinic is at 800 S Bond Street in Fells Point — directly adjacent to Harbor East. Most patients drive in under five minutes, and it's walkable from much of the neighborhood. There's no need to cross the city for doctoral-level PT.
Do you take insurance, and what will I actually pay? Physica Medica is an out-of-network provider. That's a deliberate choice — it's what allows 60-minute one-on-one sessions with a DPT instead of the volume-based model most in-network clinics run. Many patients with PPO plans can submit for out-of-network reimbursement. Call the clinic directly and we'll give you a straight answer about what to expect before you book.
Do you offer evening or weekend appointments? Saturday morning appointments are available from 9am to 1pm. Weekday availability runs Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm. If your schedule is tight, call 443-228-8029 to discuss what's currently open — availability shifts and it's worth asking directly.
